What Counts as Sinchon, and Which Station Do You Need?
Sinchon is the student and nightlife district around Sinchon Station on Line 2 in Seodaemun-gu, near Yonsei, Ewha and Sogang universities. The Seoul Metro map shows Line 2 running Hongik Univ., Sinchon, Ewha Womans Univ., Ahyeon. Hongdae is the neighbour, one stop back; if you sleep there, read Incheon Airport to Hongdae. One trap: the same map shows a second, separate Sinchon station on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line. AREX does not link to it, so say “Sinchon Station, Line 2” to taxi apps and hotels.
1. Bus 6002: The Easiest Incheon Airport to Sinchon Route
Airport Limousine bus 6002 is the only regular daytime route through Sinchon. City-bound it stops at Hapjeong, Seogyo-dong, Hongik Univ., then Sinchon Ogeori (Hyundai Dept. Store), Sinchon Station and Ewha Womans Univ. The fare is ₩17,000 (children 6 to 12: ₩12,000).
Drop-offs. All three are central bus lane stops: near Sinchon Station Exit 8 (14062, Hyundai Dept. Store), Sinchon Station Exit 5 (14063) and Ewha Womans Univ. Station Exit 6 (14064). Ewha tells visitors to cross the street to Exit 2, so expect a crosswalk with bags.
Times. From T1 (stop 6A-1, 1F) weekday buses run 05:34 to 23:29, about every 12 to 17 minutes after 07:00. From T2 (B1, platform 30) the first is 05:14 and the last 23:09. Weekend last buses are the same.
Journey time. The operator publishes none. Sogang says about 50 minutes; Ewha’s handbook says about 2 hours door to door. Neither is a timetable.
Paying. The operator’s pages disagree: the T1 page accepts tickets, cash and T-money, but the T2 page says tickets must be bought at the ticket office from 5 March 2026. Buy at the counter and confirm. The KKday limousine ticket (from ₩16,596, rated 4.7 from 380 reviews, as of October 2026) needs a paper-ticket swap; check it covers 6002.
Bus 6011 for Yonsei and Ewha’s back gate
Route 6011 also costs ₩17,000. Incheon Airport lists the first bus at 05:44 (T1) and 05:24 (T2), the last at 23:14 (T1) and 22:54 (T2). It stops at Yonsei Univ. (stop 13012) and Ewha Back Gate (13016), and Yonsei’s own page lists it as the airport bus. Boarding: T1 1F No. 5, T2 B1 No. 31.
2. AREX and Line 2: Incheon Airport to Sinchon by Train
The train is cheaper but has one change. Take the AREX all-stop train to Hongik Univ., follow signs to Line 2 and ride one stop to Sinchon. If the next-station display says Hapjeong, you are going the wrong way. AREX says the Express is nonstop between Seoul Station and the airport, so its ₩13,000 ticket is wrong for Incheon Airport to Sinchon.
Fare, time and frequency
AREX’s fare table gives ₩4,650 from T1 and ₩5,250 from T2 to Hongik Univ. on a transport card; a single-journey ticket adds ₩100 and a ₩500 refundable deposit. The Line 2 leg is charged on top, and no official combined figure is published. AREX publishes 59 minutes (T1) and 66 minutes (T2) to Seoul Station only; Hongik Univ. is two stops earlier, then add the change. First all-stop train: 05:14 from T1, 05:08 from T2.
The last train is earlier than you think
The last T1 departure is 23:56 (T2 23:50), but AREX marks it as ending at Digital Media City, before Hongik Univ. The last train that reaches Hongik Univ. is 23:38 from T1 and 23:32 from T2. Check the last Line 2 train on the Seoul Metro site.
Luggage and the change at Hongik Univ.
AREX says Hongik Univ. has a separate platform four floors deep with 6 elevators, 20 escalators and 2 moving walks, then a long walk to Line 2. Check the exit signs for lifts at Sinchon. Incheon Airport lists manned T-Luggage storage at Hongik Univ. (B1).
3. The Last Kilometre: From the Exit to Your Hotel
Pick your exit before going up. The universities publish theirs: Sinchon Station Exit 2 or 3 for Yonsei, Exit 6 for Sogang (about 8 minutes to the main gate), and Ewha Womans Univ. Station Exit 2 for Ewha (about 300 metres to the main gate).

4. Taxi and Private Transfer: Incheon Airport to Sinchon by Car
A taxi suits three or four people with bags or a very late landing. Use the marked stands: 5C, 6C, 6D at T1 and 7C at T2. The airport warns that illegal call vans overcharge.
Metered taxi: an estimate with the arithmetic
Seoul’s tariff is ₩4,800 for 1.6 km, then ₩100 per 131 m. The calculation assumes 55 km, a rough distance. By day: (55 − 1.6) ÷ 0.131 = about 408 steps × ₩100 = ₩40,800 + ₩4,800 = ₩45,600, plus the ₩3,200 airport toll (Shin Airport Hiway tariff) = about ₩48,800. The meter rises 20% from 22:00 to 23:00 and 02:00 to 04:00 (about ₩57,900) and 40% from 23:00 to 02:00: ₩45,600 × 1.4 + ₩3,200 = about ₩67,000. Time charges are extra.
International Taxi flat fare (Zone B)
International Taxi’s map puts Seodaemun-gu (Sinchon, Ewha, Yonsei) and Mapo-gu (Sogang) in Zone B: ₩75,000 standard, ₩110,000 deluxe or large. Book 24 hours ahead.
