Bottom line: Nami Island costs ₩19,000 for an adult and that price already includes the round-trip ferry, so the only real planning problem is the 1.5 km gap between Gapyeong Station and the wharf and the last boat back at 21:05.

What this guide covers
What Nami Island and Petite France actually are
Nami Island is a half-moon shaped island in the Bukhan River, inside Chuncheon city limits but reached from Gapyeong. Its operator runs it as a themed “Naminara Republic”, complete with a novelty passport that doubles as an annual membership, and the tree-lined avenues are the reason it became a set piece in Korean drama. Practically, though, it is a ticketed park you enter by boat.
Petite France is a separate, privately run French-themed village about 20 minutes away on the far side of Cheongpyeong, now paired with an Italian Village (Pinocchio and Da Vinci) on the same site and sold either separately or on a combined pass. The two attractions have nothing to do with each other commercially, which is why there is no bundled ticket and why the connection between them is the part that breaks itineraries.
1. What Nami Island and Petite France cost in 2026
Nami Island prices admission and transport together. Adults pay ₩19,000, the concession rate of ₩16,000 covers middle and high school students, visitors aged 70 and over, severe-disability cardholders and registered veterans, and children from 36 months to elementary school pay ₩13,000. Infants under 36 months with a guardian go free. Every one of those prices includes the regular ferry in and out.

If you want to arrive by motorboat instead of the regular ferry, the same tiers cost ₩29,000 / ₩26,000 / ₩23,000. The motorboat only departs with two or more passengers and takes up to five per boat, and it runs seasonally, roughly April to November. Groups of 20 or more general visitors get 10% off the total, but only on the regular-ferry ticket.
Petite France is cheaper and simpler. Adults and teenagers pay ₩12,000 and children from 36 months to elementary school pay ₩10,000, both discounted from list prices of ₩16,000 and ₩12,000. The Italian Village alone costs the same, and the Two Park Pass covering both is ₩19,500 for adults and teens and ₩16,000 for children. Gapyeong residents, visitors 65 and over, disability cardholders and veterans get a further discount with ID.

2. Getting to Nami Island from Seoul
There are three sane ways to reach Nami Island, and the operator publishes all of them.
ITX-Cheongchun. The fast option. Yongsan to Gapyeong takes about 60 minutes and Cheongnyangni to Gapyeong about 42 minutes; from Chuncheon it is about 20 minutes. It is a reserved-seat train, so buy on Korail rather than tapping through with a transport card, and note that fares move with the timetable, so check the price when you book.

Gyeongchun Line. The cheap option: an ordinary metropolitan train you can tap into with T-money. Sangbong to Gapyeong is about 50 minutes, Chuncheon to Gapyeong about 28 minutes. Slower than the ITX but no reservation to miss.
The direct shuttle. If train changes sound like work, a guided day tour such as the KKday Nami Island and Petite France tour or the GetYourGuide Nami Island and Garden of Morning Calm tour handles the transport; the operator also lists a daily round-trip coach run by Ktourstory: Hongik University Station Exit 4 at 09:00, Namsan Yejang transfer lot near Myeongdong at 09:40, Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station Exit 9 at 09:50, arriving Nami Island at 11:30. Return leaves Nami at 16:30 and reaches Hongdae at 18:50. Dogs cannot travel on it. That fixed 16:30 departure is the real constraint: it rules out combining the shuttle with an evening at Petite France.

From Gapyeong Station, whichever train you take, the wharf is 1.5 km away: about 20 minutes on foot, or about 5 minutes on the local 10-4 bus or in a taxi.
3. Nami Island ferry hours and the last boat out
The boat is the part people get wrong. Sailings run every 30 minutes from 08:00 to 09:00, every 10 to 20 minutes from 09:00 to 18:00, then every 30 minutes from 18:00 to 21:00. The first boat to the island is 08:00 and the last is 21:00; the first boat off the island is 08:05 and the last is 21:05. The crossing takes about five minutes.

Two seasonal extensions matter. In summer, 17 July to 23 August 2026, the last boat moved to 21:30 on Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of public holidays. In autumn, 18 September to 22 November 2026, the first boat is 07:30 every day and the last boat is 21:30 on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Outside those windows do not plan on anything after 21:00, and the operator warns that hours can change with the season, so recheck the timetable before a late finish.
4. Combining Nami Island with Petite France in one day
Both sit in Gapyeong County, and the county runs a tourist circular bus built for exactly this trip. Gapyeong announced in March 2026 that from 2 April the single loop was split into two: an A course taking in Gapyeong Terminal, the Rail Bike, Gapyeong Station, Jarasum, Nami Island, Petite France, the Gapyeong cruise and the Begonia garden, and a B course linking Petite France, Cheongpyeong Terminal, Cheongpyeong Station and the Garden of Morning Calm. Petite France is the transfer point between them.

Each loop takes about an hour, with a headway of one hour to one hour thirty and a fare of ₩8,000 for unlimited rides in a day (county announcement, March 2026). Confirm at the stop or the station tourist desk before you build a plan around a specific bus.
Petite France itself opens at 09:00 and closes at 18:00, all year round, and the operator is explicit that the closing time flexes with the season and the weather. There are no pets, and the whole site is non-smoking and alcohol-free. Night openings happen but are announced on its notice board rather than fixed, so do not assume one.

5. A realistic day-trip timetable
The version that works without rushing: catch an early ITX-Cheongchun from Cheongnyangni, be at Gapyeong Station by about 09:30, take the 10-4 bus or a taxi to the wharf, and be on the island before 10:00 when the ferries are running every 10 to 20 minutes. Give Nami Island three to four hours, take a mid-afternoon boat back, then use the circular bus or a taxi to Petite France for the late afternoon, and aim to be back at Gapyeong or Cheongpyeong Station before the evening trains thin out.
The version that fails: booking the 09:00 direct shuttle and hoping to add Petite France. The shuttle leaves Nami Island at 16:30, and Petite France closes at 18:00 on the other side of the county. Pick one or the other.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Buying a separate ferry ticket. The round-trip boat is already inside the Nami Island admission price; nobody should be selling you one at the wharf.
- Assuming the first boat is 07:30 all year. That earlier start only applies during the autumn extension, 18 September to 22 November 2026. The standard first boat is 08:00.
- Planning past 21:00 outside the extension windows. The last boat off the island is normally 21:05, not later.
- Walking from Gapyeong Station without checking the weather. It is 1.5 km, about 20 minutes, and there is a 5-minute bus and taxi alternative.
- Taking the direct shuttle and expecting to add Petite France. The 16:30 return leaves no room; Petite France shuts at 18:00 and is not on the way.
- Treating the county circular bus timetable as fixed. The route was split into A and B courses in April 2026 and the headway can run to 90 minutes. Confirm it in person.
- Turning up at Petite France with a dog or a beer. No pets, no smoking and no alcohol anywhere on site.
- Paying the motorboat premium by accident. The ₩29,000 tier is the motorboat arrival, and it only sails with two or more passengers, seasonally.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is Nami Island admission?
Adult admission is 19,000 won and it includes the round-trip ferry. Middle and high school students, visitors aged 70 and over, severe-disability cardholders and veterans pay 16,000 won; children from 36 months to elementary school pay 13,000 won. Choosing the motorboat in and regular ferry out costs 29,000, 26,000 and 23,000 won respectively.
Is the ferry included in the Nami Island ticket?
Yes. The operator prices admission as a package that already includes the round-trip boat, so there is no separate ferry ticket to buy at the wharf. The crossing itself takes about five minutes.
How do I get to Nami Island from Seoul?
Take the ITX-Cheongchun from Yongsan (about 60 minutes) or Cheongnyangni (about 42 minutes) to Gapyeong Station, or the slower Gyeongchun Line from Sangbong (about 50 minutes). From Gapyeong Station the wharf is 1.5 km: about 20 minutes on foot, or about 5 minutes by the 10-4 local bus or taxi.
Is there a direct bus from Seoul to Nami Island?
Yes. The operator lists a daily round-trip shuttle run by Ktourstory that leaves Hongik University Station Exit 4 at 09:00, calls at the Namsan Yejang transfer lot near Myeongdong at 09:40 and Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station Exit 9 at 09:50, and reaches Nami Island at 11:30. It returns from Nami at 16:30. Dogs are not allowed on this shuttle.
What are the Nami Island ferry hours?
Boats run 08:00 to 09:00 every 30 minutes, 09:00 to 18:00 every 10 to 20 minutes, and 18:00 to 21:00 every 30 minutes. The first boat to the island is 08:00 and the last is 21:00; the last boat back is 21:05. During the autumn extension from 18 September to 22 November 2026 the first boat is 07:30 daily and the last is 21:30 on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
How much is Petite France?
Petite France alone is 12,000 won for adults and teenagers and 10,000 won for children from 36 months to elementary school, discounted from the 16,000 and 12,000 won list prices. The Italian Village alone is the same, and the Two Park Pass covering both is 19,500 won and 16,000 won.
Can I do Nami Island and Petite France in one day?
Yes, and the Gapyeong tourist circular bus is designed for it: Petite France is the transfer point between its A and B courses. Gapyeong County announced in March 2026 that each loop takes about an hour with a headway of one hour to one hour thirty, at a reported fare of 8,000 won, so confirm the timetable on the day before you build a tight plan.
Is Nami Island open all year?
Yes. The operator states that Nami Island can be visited 365 days a year. Petite France is also open all year from 09:00, though it notes that closing time flexes with the season and the weather.
What else should you sort before you land?
A Gapyeong day needs the same groundwork as everything else. Read our K-ETA 2027 guide and e-Arrival Card guide first, then Incheon Airport to Seoul, and T-money vs Climate Card, because a Climate Card short-term pass will not carry you out to Gapyeong.
For the rest of the trip: what to do when the train is sold out, the Gyeongju day trip if you want history rather than scenery, best time to visit Korea for the foliage weeks, and the Han River parks guide for a cheaper day outdoors.
