Bottom line: for most people Incheon Airport to Yongsan is easiest on Airport Limousine route 6001 (₩17,000 from both terminals), which stops at Sinyongsan and Samgakji, a short walk from Yongsan Station. The cheap option is AREX to Seoul Station (₩4,750 from T1) and Line 1 for two stops, but you carry bags through a long transfer.

Most guides to Incheon Airport to Yongsan say “take AREX to Seoul Station” and stop. A direct airport bus also runs through Yongsan. This guide only summarises the general modes (the full comparison is in my Incheon Airport to Seoul guide) and focuses on Yongsan, with Samgakji and Sinyongsan as short notes. Itaewon has its own guide: Incheon Airport to Itaewon. Figures are as of 8 October 2026; confirm any number on the operator page before you travel.

What this guide covers
Which Yongsan do you mean?
Visitors usually sleep at one of three spots: Yongsan Station and I’Park Mall (KTX and ITX trains, Line 1, the Dragon City hotel towers), Samgakji (Lines 4 and 6, War Memorial of Korea) or Sinyongsan and Ichon (Line 4, National Museum of Korea). The airport bus serves Sinyongsan and Samgakji. Yongsan Station itself needs a walk or a subway ride.

1. Incheon Airport to Yongsan by Airport Limousine bus 6001
Searching the airport’s bus page for Yongsan returns one daytime bus, 6001 (plus a Gimpo transfer service). Airport Limousine runs it (+82-2-2664-9898) at ₩17,000, which matches the operator’s fare page (₩12,000 for elementary-school children).
| Route | Fare | T1 first–last | T2 first–last | Stops in order from the airport | Bay T1 / T2 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6001 | ₩17,000 | 05:29–23:09 | 05:39–22:49 | Hangang Bridge (North), Sinyongsan Stn, Yongsan post office, Samgakji Stn, Sookmyung Women’s Univ. Stn, Seoul Station | 1F no. 5 / B1 no. 29 |
T1 has 79 departures a day, roughly every 10–17 minutes from about 06:45 and every 25–30 minutes before that. No official daytime ride time is published; expect about 65–85 minutes (estimate).

Boarding. The operator’s notice of 7 April 2026 (Korean) says that at T1 route 6001 is first come, first served and takes cash, a transport card or a ticket. At T2 you need a ticket. There is no online reservation, no credit card and no Climate Card. Press the stop bell for your stop. A KKday voucher for 6001 starts at ₩16,559 with free cancellation, but you swap it for a paper ticket first, so it saves about ₩400, not time.
2. Incheon Airport to Yongsan by AREX and Line 1
AREX does not stop at Yongsan, so the train needs one change. Take the all-stop train to Seoul Station, then Line 1 (Seoul Station, Namyeong, Yongsan). AREX’s fare table gives ₩4,750 from T1 and ₩5,350 from T2 on a transit card (₩100 more with a single-journey ticket, plus a ₩500 deposit). No official combined fare is published, so treat Line 1 as at most the ₩1,550 base fare shown in the same table. No operator publishes an all-stop ride time; third-party guides say about 59 minutes from T1 and 66 from T2.
The AREX Express costs ₩13,000 and takes 43 minutes from T1 and 51 from T2 (AREX), but it also ends at Seoul Station. For Yongsan it saves roughly 15 minutes (estimate) for ₩8,250 more. The KKday Express ticket is ₩11,500 as of October 2026. For Samgakji and Sinyongsan, change to Line 4 (Sookmyung Women’s Univ., Samgakji, Sinyongsan, Ichon). Gongdeok plus the Gyeongui–Jungang Line also reaches Yongsan (per Wikipedia), but its frequency is not published, so Seoul Station is the better change point.

AREX Airport Express One-Way Ticket (Incheon Airport to Seoul Station)
⭐ 4.8/5 from 31,385 KKday reviews · nonstop train to Seoul Station · from KRW 11,500 (as of Oct 2026)
The transfer with bags. AREX describes Seoul Station as 2 floors above ground and 7 below, with transfer passageways to Lines 1 and 4, 10 elevators, 24 escalators and 4 moving walks. Expect several levels and a long walk; no official step-free route is published, so allow extra time with big bags.
3. Taxi from Incheon Airport to Yongsan: the realistic cost
Incheon Airport Corp prints a ₩4,800 base fare for a Seoul standard taxi, a 40% night surcharge from 23:00 to 02:00 and 20% from 22:00 to 23:00 and 02:00 to 04:00, and no boundary surcharge for Seoul trips. Seoul city’s meter adds ₩100 per 131 m after 1.6 km.

The airport publishes no Yongsan fare, so this is an estimate, using OpenStreetMap routing to Yongsan Station (about 52.2 km from T1 and 56.9 km from T2, not official distances):
- T1: ₩4,800 + (52,200 − 1,600) m ÷ 131 × ₩100 ≈ ₩43,400. Add the ₩3,200 airport expressway toll (the figure in my Seoul hub guide) for about ₩46,600.
- T2: ₩4,800 + (56,900 − 1,600) m ÷ 131 × ₩100 ≈ ₩47,000, or about ₩50,200 with toll.
- From 23:00 to 02:00 the meter part rises 40%: ₩43,400 × 1.4 + ₩3,200 ≈ ₩64,000 (T1) and ₩47,000 × 1.4 + ₩3,200 ≈ ₩69,000 (T2).
Slow traffic adds time charges, so treat these as a floor. International Taxi charges flat zone fares, and Seoul city puts Yongsan in Zone C: ₩85,000 for a sedan, ₩120,000 for an SUV, van or deluxe car. That is ₩35,000–38,000 above the daytime estimate and ₩16,000–21,000 above the night one. Book on 1644-2255 or at the Smart Taxi stands (T1 4C, T2 3C). For apps, read the Kakao T guide and my Uber Korea guide. A pre-booked private transfer adds up to 90 minutes of free waiting.

The key rules at a glance
| Mode | Route | Time | Cost | Best for | Watch out |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Airport Limousine | 6001 to Sinyongsan / Samgakji | 65–85 min* | ₩17,000 | Bags, Sinyongsan and Samgakji | Not at Yongsan Station; no Climate Card |
| AREX all-stop + Line 1 | Seoul Station, then 2 stops | 80–100 min* | ₩4,750 (T1) / ₩5,350 (T2) + Line 1 | Light bags, Yongsan Station | Long transfer; last trains |
| AREX Express + Line 1 | Express to Seoul Station | 43 / 51 min to Seoul Station, then Line 1 | ₩13,000 (KKday ₩11,500) + Line 1 | A reserved seat | Saves about 15 min, still one change |
| Night bus + taxi | N6701 to Seoul Station | 60 / 70 min to Seoul Station | ₩18,000 + about ₩9,000 | Landing after 23:00 | Five departures a night |

*Estimate. Only the AREX Express and the night bus have an official time.
4. Terminal 1 vs Terminal 2 for Incheon Airport to Yongsan
Bus 6001 boards at 1F bay 5 at T1 and B1 bay 29 at T2, where you always need a ticket. The T2 last bus is 20 minutes earlier. On AREX, T2 costs ₩600 more to Seoul Station (₩5,350 against ₩4,750).
5. Incheon Airport to Yongsan at 05:00 vs 23:00
05:00. The first all-stop leaves T2 at 05:08 and T1 at 05:14, and the first 6001 leaves T1 at 05:29 and T2 at 05:39. The airport advises allowing 1 to 2 hours for immigration and bags, so you will realistically move around 06:00.
23:00. The last 6001 leaves T1 at 23:09 and T2 at 22:49. Many guides quote 23:56 as the last train from T1, but AREX’s timetable shows it ends at Digital Media City. The last all-stop reaching Seoul Station leaves T1 at 23:38 and T2 at 23:32, weekdays and holidays alike. Check the last Line 1 and Line 4 trains on the Seoul Metro site; after about 22:30 take the bus or a taxi.
After the last bus. Night bus N6701 (₩18,000; booths, machines or the Tmoney GO app) leaves T1 at 23:50, 00:40, 01:40, 03:45 and 04:40, and T2 at 23:30, 00:20, 01:20, 03:25 and 04:20. The airport lists Seoul Station about 60 minutes after T1 and 70 after T2. There is no Yongsan stop, so finish by taxi: the estimate is ₩8,700–9,800 for 3.5–4.5 km at the night rate (₩6,700 base, ₩140 per 131 m). The operator’s site lists a night route N6001 via Sinyongsan, but its timetable is a placeholder and airport.kr omits it, so ignore it.

6. The last kilometre: Yongsan Station, Sinyongsan, Samgakji and Ichon
- Yongsan Station and I’Park Mall: the mall is attached to the station. The Dragon City hotel towers (Novotel Ambassador, Novotel Suites Ambassador, ibis Styles) are at 95 Cheongpa-ro 20-gil, 300 m (3 minutes) from Yongsan Station and 700 m (12 minutes) from Sinyongsan, per Accor.
- Sinyongsan: the Line 4 stop and the 6001 stop nearest the mall. A third-party Tripadvisor listing says about 3 minutes to the mall (not an official figure).
- Samgakji and the War Memorial: the memorial lists Samgakji Exit 12 (Line 6, 3 minutes on foot), Exit 1 (Line 4, 5 minutes) and Namyeong Exit 1 on Line 1 (10 minutes). Route 6001 stops at Samgakji.
- National Museum of Korea: Ichon Station (Line 4 or Gyeongui–Jungang), Exit 2, then 150 m, with elevators at Exits 1 and 2. No airport bus stops at Ichon, so ride 6001 to Sinyongsan and take Line 4 one stop.

For a hotel attached to I’Park Mall, Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan is 356 m from Yongsan Station.
7. Luggage on the Incheon Airport to Yongsan transfers
- Bus: two bags per person, each under 28 inches and 20 kg, ₩8,000 for each extra bag, and carry-ons count (operator notice).
- Send bags ahead: the airport lists T-Luggage same-day delivery (T1 3F opposite counter B, T2 3F opposite counter H) and storage at Seoul Station (B1, Exits 1 and 2).
