Everland vs Lotte World: Which Theme Park to Choose

Bottom line: on Everland vs Lotte World the decision is really about geography and pricing structure: Lotte World is a subway ride from central Seoul with a flat year-round tariff (67,000 won adults for the all-access pass, or 46,900 won booking online on the day), while Everland is an hour out in Yongin and prices its all-day pass by season, from 55,000 won in December to 71,000 won in late October.

Everland vs Lotte World: The Short Answer

  • Lotte World Adventure is in Jamsil in south-east Seoul, attached to Jamsil Station on Subway Lines 2 and 8, with a large indoor hall plus the outdoor Magic Island.
  • Everland is in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, run by Samsung C&T, and is a dedicated day trip rather than an afternoon add-on.
  • Lotte World gate price: 67,000 won adult for the all-access pass including the Folk Museum, 64,000 won for the park-only pass, 55,000 won and 52,000 won for the After4 versions.
  • Lotte World’s own same-day online or mobile booking rate runs to 31 December 2026: 46,900 won adult for a 1Day all-access pass, 38,500 won After4.
  • Everland prices its all-day pass by season: 62,000 won in September, 68,000 won to 5 October, 71,000 won from 6 to 31 October, 65,000 won in November and 55,000 won in December for adults and teenagers.
  • Both parks publish opening hours day by day. On 30 September 2026 Everland showed 10:00-22:00 and Lotte World 10:00-24:00, so check the daily page instead of assuming.
  • Everland states that its preferential rates do not apply to foreigners, with an exception for alien registration card holders presenting Korean-issued documents.
  • Neither park charges for under-12-month-olds; Lotte World sells a 17,000 won baby pass for 12-36 months, and Everland admits under-36-month-olds free with proof of age.

Everland vs Lotte World: Two Different Kinds of Day Out

Lotte World Adventure is a city park. It sits in Songpa-gu at Olympic-ro 240, operated by Hotel Lotte, and the indoor hall means a wet forecast does not cancel your day. The all-access pass also covers the Lotte World Folk Museum, with last admission to the museum at 18:00, and the two cannot be refunded separately if you skip one.

Everland is a resort. It is in Yongin, about an hour from central Seoul, and the ticket buys a large outdoor park with themed zones, a safari area and the T Express wooden coaster. Coin-operated attractions, rentals and special exhibitions are charged separately, which is worth knowing before you promise a child everything.

1. Everland vs Lotte World on Ticket Prices

Everland official seasonal all-day pass price table on the operator website

This is where most comparison articles go wrong, because they quote a dollar range instead of the operators’ published tariffs. Everland charges by season. As published on its Korean fee page and checked on 30 September 2026:

  • September: 62,000 won adults and teenagers, 52,000 won children and seniors
  • Through 5 October: 68,000 won / 58,000 won
  • 6-31 October: 71,000 won / 61,000 won
  • November: 65,000 won / 55,000 won
  • December: 55,000 won / 45,000 won

Everland’s age bands are children 36 months to 12 years, teenagers 13 to 18 and seniors 65 and over, and it warns that seasons can be changed without prior notice. Its annual 365 Standard pass also moved from 290,000 won to 300,000 won for adults on 6 October 2026, which tells you how current the page is.

Lotte World is flat all year but split by product. The all-access pass (park plus Folk Museum) is 67,000 won adult, 58,000 won youth, 50,000 won child and 17,000 won baby; After4, valid from 16:00, is 55,000 / 47,000 / 39,000 / 17,000. The park-only pass is 64,000 / 56,000 / 49,000 and 52,000 / 45,000 / 38,000 After4. Visitors aged 65 and over pay the child rate, and the park-only pass is excluded from general discounts.

The number that matters most for a tourist is Lotte World’s own online rate. Its official benefit page, valid 1 April to 31 December 2026, prices a same-day online or mobile booking at 46,900 won for an adult 1Day all-access pass, 40,500 won youth, 37,500 won child, and 38,500 won for an adult After4. That is roughly 30 per cent off the gate, booked from your phone while you are on the subway.

2. Hours, Closures and Why You Must Check the Day Before

Neither park publishes a simple “open 10 to 10, closed Mondays” line, because neither works that way. Everland runs a daily operating information page and its home page shows the current day’s hours; on 30 September 2026 that was 10:00 to 22:00. Lotte World does the same, and on that date it was running to midnight for its autumn festival. Individual attractions also close for scheduled safety inspections, and Everland published an inspection plan covering September to November 2026.

So the practical rule for Everland vs Lotte World is the same for both: open the operator’s daily page the evening before, check the hours and the ride-closure notices, and only then buy. That is also when you catch weather closures on outdoor rides, which hit Everland harder.

3. Getting There, and What It Costs You in Time

Lotte World wins on access and it is not close. Jamsil Station on Subway Lines 2 and 8 connects into the complex, so from most central Seoul hotels you are there in half an hour on a transport card for the price of a normal subway ride. To be even closer, Signiel Seoul is 235 m from Jamsil Station.

Everland needs planning. The park’s own traffic information page lists the current options, and in September 2026 it was promoting a newly launched 4105 bus route and a 10 per cent discount for shuttle-bus riders. The rail option is the Yongin Everline light rail to Jeondae-Everland station, and a KKday shuttle bus runs from central Seoul. Shuttle and bus fares change with promotions, so check the traffic page when you check the hours.

Budget the travel as part of the ticket. If you only have one free day and no rental car, the honest answer to Everland vs Lotte World is Lotte World. If you have a full day and want the bigger rides, Everland earns the trip.

4. Discounts Foreign Visitors Can and Cannot Use

Both parks publish long discount lists, and most of them are not for tourists. Lotte World’s standing preferential rates are 50 per cent for a visitor with disability certification plus one companion, 50 per cent for national merit holders plus one companion, 50 per cent for a pregnant visitor with a maternity record book, and 30 per cent for multi-child card holders. All of those need Korean documentation.

Everland is explicit about it: its preferential information page states that foreigners are not eligible, with an exception for holders of a valid alien registration card who bring Korean-issued proof. Age-based, disability, national merit, multi-child and pregnancy rates generally have to be bought at the on-site ticket office with documents, apart from the disability rate, which can also be bought through its reservation system.

What does work for a visitor: the parks’ own online booking rates, Lotte World’s same-day online price above being the clearest example, and authorised resellers. Whichever route you take, compare against the official tariff on the day rather than a figure from an old article. If you are pricing a whole trip, our guide to how much cash to bring to Korea and the tax refund limits are the other two numbers people get wrong.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Assuming a single price. Everland’s adult rate moves by 16,000 won across the autumn. Check which season your date falls in.
  • Paying the gate price at Lotte World. The official same-day online rate of 46,900 won for adults runs to 31 December 2026.
  • Buying the park-only pass and then wanting the Folk Museum. Only the all-access pass includes it, museum entry closes at 18:00, and the two parts are not separately refundable.
  • Using a screenshot as a ticket. Lotte World’s all-access pass conditions say a captured mobile screen is not valid; carry the real ticket.
  • Expecting a Korean resident discount as a tourist. Everland’s page says the preferential rates do not apply to foreigners without an alien registration card and Korean documents.
  • Arriving at Everland late on a short winter day. Hours are set daily and shrink in winter; Lotte World sells an After4 evening ticket; Everland has no equivalent, so a late arrival still costs the full seasonal rate.
  • Ignoring maintenance notices. Everland published a September-to-November 2026 attraction inspection plan; the ride you came for may be shut.
  • Trying both parks in one day. They are about 40 km apart with a park day’s worth of walking in each. Pick one per day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is better, Everland or Lotte World?

For a short Seoul trip, Lotte World: it is attached to Jamsil Station, has a large indoor hall for bad weather, and sells an official same-day online adult ticket at 46,900 won. For bigger outdoor rides and a full day out, Everland in Yongin is the stronger park, but the journey and the seasonal pricing both need planning.

How much are Everland and Lotte World tickets in 2026?

Everland’s all-day pass for adults and teenagers is 62,000 won in September, 68,000 won to 5 October, 71,000 won from 6 to 31 October, 65,000 won in November and 55,000 won in December. Lotte World charges 67,000 won at the gate for the all-access pass and 64,000 won for the park-only pass, with a same-day online rate of 46,900 won for adults until 31 December 2026.

Is Lotte World indoors?

Partly. Lotte World Adventure has a large indoor hall and the outdoor Magic Island by Seokchon Lake, so rain affects only part of the park. That is the main practical difference in the Everland vs Lotte World comparison, because Everland is mostly outdoors.

What time do Everland and Lotte World open?

Both set hours day by day and publish them on their own sites. On 30 September 2026 Everland showed 10:00 to 22:00 and Lotte World 10:00 to 24:00 during its autumn festival. Check the operator’s daily page the evening before, along with the attraction closure notices.

Do foreigners get a discount at Everland or Lotte World?

Not from the standing preferential rates. Everland states that its preferential discounts do not apply to foreigners, except for alien registration card holders with Korean-issued proof, and Lotte World’s permanent discounts require Korean documents such as a disability certificate, national merit proof, a maternity record book or a multi-child card. Use the parks’ own online booking rates instead.

Is the Lotte World Folk Museum included in the ticket?

Only with the all-access pass, which is 67,000 won for adults at the gate. Museum admission closes at 18:00, and if you use one part and not the other there is no separate refund. The cheaper park-only pass covers the theme park alone.

How do I get to Everland from Seoul?

Everland is in Yongin, roughly an hour from central Seoul, and the park publishes its own traffic information page. Options include intercity and shuttle buses, a newly launched 4105 bus route promoted in September 2026, and the Yongin Everline light rail to Jeondae-Everland station. Check that page on the day, because shuttle arrangements and promotions change.

Can I do Everland and Lotte World on the same day?

Realistically no. They are about 40 km apart, both are full-day parks, and Everland alone involves an hour of travel each way from central Seoul. If you want both, use two days and buy Lotte World’s After4 ticket for the shorter of the two visits.

What Should You Plan Around the Park Day?

A park day eats a whole day, so put it where the weather works. Our month-by-month guide to the best time to visit Korea covers that, and Chuseok and Seollal closures matter because holiday weeks are both the busiest and the most expensive park dates. Around Jamsil, the Han River parks are a free alternative when the queues look absurd, and afterwards most people end up at Korean BBQ or in a jjimjilbang. Getting home late is easier with Kakao T, and subway etiquette helps when you are carrying a giant plush toy at rush hour. Comparing cities rather than parks? Start with Busan vs Seoul.
